We're Smokin The Tires

We drank beer and built Hot Bugs

When building a high performance VW engine,
there are quite a few options available.

I prefer an 82mm stroker crank.
More power at lower RPMs. Less wear on
engine.

No doubt in my mind that the heads you
choose will decipher how much horsepower
your engine makes.

Of course the cam is a
huge player in the power game also.

I run dual 44 Webers. Burns a bit of fuel

but the trade off is awesome.

I make use of an oil filter too.
Motor uses a 'doghouse' oil cooler
and an external cooler with a big electric fan

.
I use an extra 1.5 quart oil sump to
help Keep things cool. Cooling is critical.
Heat is the enemy.

With all the extra goodies, the 2276cc
beast holds 7 quarts of oil.
